Is Logic Killing Your Inspiration?
I’m often referred to as a feminine business coach, because I do tend to operate more from my intuition (both masculine and feminine/ yin & yang are essential for a functioning and fulfilling business and I love dancing with the systems, strategy & structure + the creativity, intuitive guidance and freedom).
But the truth is, in the past I've operated much more from my masculine than even I realized… I just didn't recognize it at the time.
This is what operating mostly from my masculine looked like, for me:
having great, intuitive ideas come through, but then jumping straight into strategy and losing the creative energy of the idea
receiving extensive and expansive visions for my business and life, but then 'rationalizing' them away with logic
feeling overwhelmed and ignoring my feminine need to take rest/space, to pause, to surrender... and then not having space to receive new inspiration
knowing there was MORE fulfilment, success and ease possible for my life, but not being able to logically see how to bring it in
Operating mostly from your masculine is common in our culture, because society still supports a more masculine way of doing business and approaching life (hello patriarchy and white supremacy).
But when we disconnect from, or push aside our feminine aspect, we also disconnect from the source of our creativity, our fulfilment, and the wise guidance of our desires ... The place where those intuitive hits come through that can make all the difference in running a soulful AND successful business.
I'm passionate about helping you to bring more balance, ease and success into your life as you do soulful work in the world, so here's a few things that helped me bring a bit more balance to my business:
1. Recognizing that I was still valuing strategy (good copy, funnels, structure) over the creative flow and LIFE of the idea. Once I identified that, I was able to call myself out when it was happening and remind myself that it's actually MORE effective and efficient to let the idea have some life and room first and then, only once I've committed to it, starting to strategize.
2. Remembering that when I don't rush or force the strategy that often it flows in with total guidance at the perfect timing and with ease (instead of a lot of effort). And, for it to be able to flow in, I have to commit AND create space (aka it's not passive, it's still an engaged, intentional process).
3. "My desires and experience are more valuable than the perfect strategy." <- THIS affirmation. I value the experience. Enjoying the journey as much as possible is one of my core values, and if things are feeling rushed, forced, super hard ... chances are I am trying TOO hard to get things just right and overriding the wisdom that actually wants to come through. Then I have to go back to #2 and remember my process. In these moments I also ask myself things like "What do I want this experience to feel like? How can I bring that in right now?"
