6 Signs You've Got Shiny Object Syndrome... Real Bad

6 Signs You've Got Shiny Object Syndrome... Real Bad

In business (online business especially) it can be confusing to know what actions to take and when to get the best results.  What actions matter the most. This often leads to S.O.S.  Shiny Object Syndrome.

It can be hard to tell if a program/course/idea has come at the perfect time for you to take your next big step... or if it's the perfect (self-sabotaging) distraction.  If you are experiencing any of the following, it may be an indication there is some distraction goin' on.

1.  You check your email first thing in the morning excited to hear of the new training, programs and how to's from gurus and experts.

2.  You have bought countless programs...and they are all stacked nicely on your shelves (or more likely organized neatly on your computer... if you've even logged into them) without ever being implemented.

3.  You are currently in 4 of those programs (one for design, one for video marketing, one for launching, one for pinterest and perhaps one more... "it's just a short one.").

4.  You constantly feel like if you just buy this course/program THEN you'll be able to __________.

5.  You've spent all your time taking classes, courses, programs, workshops... but haven't applied much (if any) and are still feeling a void.

6.  You've got ideas after idea after idea... you entertain an idea, get really excited about it, maybe even start on it.  Then a new idea pops up and bam off to that one.

AND, you get more of a "high" from buying & enrolling in programs rather than taking action, implementing, completing or following through.

One of the best ways I've found to overcome S.O.S. (yes, I definitely struggled with this) is to have a trusted advisor/coach/strategist/kick-ass friend.  Someone who:

1.  Gets you.

2.  Is a couple steps ahead of you.

3.  Is willing to share their personal experience and insights but also help guide you to the answer that's right for you.

Bonuses:  They hold you accountable to what you really want, what's important to you and help you implement if possible.

Life is too short to not leave the mark you're meant to.  That means you've got to take action.

Share the gifts you've got and spread the knowledge you've gained.  Someone is waiting for it.
