3 Ways to Align With More Freedom in Your Coaching Biz

3 Ways to Align With More Freedom in Your Coaching Biz

You just had a successful launch (maybe even your best yet!).

And, while you’re fairly happy about how much money has come in and the people you’ll be able to serve…

You’re already exhausted from the whole process and just *thinking* about delivering the actual program makes your body constrict.

You were already feeling like you weren’t enjoying life as much as you wanted to be before, and now you’re scared there’s going to be less and less time to write, create, vision, read, and enjoy other hobbies and quality time outside of work.

This is not why you started your business, and it’s certainly not how you were hoping you’d feel at this point in your coaching business.

Yes, you wanted to be of service, and use your gifts for good - to feel useful and purposeful.

But, you also wanted more freedom, more flexibility, more peace and flow.

Right now that is NOT the case.

The good news?

I’ve been supporting hundreds and hundreds of coaches over the last 8 years through my coaching business with exactly this. It’s inevitable that at different stages of growth there’s going to be some edges you bump up against. The trick is to ensure that they don’t become a wall that eventually becomes your very own trap. Unfortunately this is what happens for most business owners - they create what is, essentially, another job for themselves, except this time there’s more responsibility and your brain is always thinking about it.

For my clients who are passionate about being of service and doing it in a way that serves THEM too, there are a few things I typically have them look at to start:

1. What rules have you put into place about your desires?

*That you not-so-secretly know are keeping you feeling the way you’re feeling.

For example: When I ________ (get a little more free time) then I can _______ (start taking that pottery class I’ve been wanting to do forever).
In order to be taken seriously I need to work at least 40 hours a week.
Once my program sells out then I can treat myself to some time off.

The key here is to remember that there really is a “finish line,” there is only a journey that you get to dictate. The journey can be one that you choose is primarily enjoyable or one that you’re trying to struggle to the end of so that then you can get this non existent reward.

What if you just let yourself enjoy what you really want to enjoy NOW?
What if you let yourself spend more time in nature now?
What if you let yourself start that new hobby or get back to that instrument you tucked away years ago TODAY?
What if you decided to make quality time with your friends every week a priority?
What if you let yourself enjoy self care throughout the whole experience?
What are you being guided to make a priority right now (not when….)?

2. Prioritize and protect your creation space.

It can be easy to get caught up in the pure excitement of having opportunities presented to you constantly, and having clients begging to work with you - so much so that the time you had set aside for your own writing or meditation or workout slips to the wayside.

This is a slippery slope, one that can feel okay, even good, at the start, but then before you know it you feel overwhelmed, overworked and overcommitted with no space for you and your creation time for the foreseeable future.

This is one of those areas where you need to have boundaries for YOURSELF, and hold them diligently.

What do you truly require to operate at your very best? Schedule it in and protect that space.

Even if it's weekly massages - those massages need to become some of your highest priority “work.” They aren’t a luxury that if you end up having time for you can give yourself, no they are a requirement for you to do your best work - to show up your very best for your clients, your loved ones, and yourself!

3. How do you want your business and life to feel? What do you want it to look like?

Do you have people around you that are showing you that’s possible? For example: If you want to experience spaciousness and ease in your business but everyone around you is hustling and overworking…

Surround yourself with people that show you there are other ways of doing things, that there are other possibilities, and most importantly that what you desire is totally possible. The more proof your ego has that it’s safe and possible for you to experience what you want, the better!

Plus, when you spend time with people who EMBODY what you desire, you will naturally start to pick up on and adjust to that frequency, making it more of your reality with ease.

Which of these did you most need to hear today? What are you going to take action on today?

If you’re committed to continuing to expand your business (and ultimately growing yourself), WHILE fully living and enjoying your life (aka Living Richly) and you want to surround yourself with people who value you this too…
